I did some testing awhile back, and found virtiually no significant improvement over photoshop bicubic interpolation & median. There's nothing different about the scratch disk than any of the other computers and they run illustrator just fine. I tried the work around by disabling Version Cue, that only changed the error message from "VersionCueUI.dll - The application ran out of virtual memory. And, if so, was it active when you installed Elements? Please close some windows to free memory." It generally comes in Photoshop and Illustrator when you try to save the file.
